Musical play marks ‘Bubble Gang’s’ 22nd anniversary

The multi-awarded gag show “Bubble Gang” celebrates its 22nd anniversary this month through musical show “Parokya Bente Dos: A Laugh Story” whose second episode airs tomorrow. It is the first time a special two-part musical is used on the comedy show.

“Bubble Gang” creative director Michael V. was inspired by the tremendous success of the stage musical “Rak Of Aegis.” For “Parokya Bente Dos: A Laugh Story,” they feature 10 songs of the group, one of the country’s most popular OPM bands. “We could have used more of their songs, but we chose only those with connection to the story,” Bitoy added.

The presentation is about a simple guy named Buloy (Michael V.), a die-hard fan who has built his dreams around an actress, Birdie Aguila (Kim Domingo) and the countless adventures he had to go through in order to fulfill his life-long dream to be her leading man on and off-screen.

The cast includes Chariz Solomon, Valeen Montenegro, Antonio Aquitania, Boy 2 Quizon, Paolo Contis, Jackie Rice, Sef Cadayona, Betong Sumaya, Mikael Daez, Jak Roberto, Archie Alemania, Analyn Barro, Juancho Trivino, Ashley Rivera and others.
