The Department of Transportation Undersecretary for Railways Cesar Chavez has resigned from his post, Thursday, November 23.
His irrevocable resignation came in the light of recent woes involving the Metro Rail Transit System (MRT Line 3).
“Simple sense of delicadeza which I have adhered to throughout my professional life gives me no choice but to resign from my said position,” Chavez wrote in his resignation letter addressed to President Rodrigo Duterte.
The DOTr Undersecretary hopes his resignation will provide the “opportunity” for the government to appoint a person “better qualified” to perform the duties and responsibilities of his office.
Chavez also hoped that the problems plaguing the MRT3 system will be “resolved properly and with dispatch.”
Based on reports, Chavez’ resignation was a personal decision and that nobody urged him to leave his post.
