Vice Ganda kicks off US tour

Comedian Vice Ganda is in the US for his “Pusuan Mo Si Vice Ganda Sa Amerika: Nagmahal, Nasaktan, Nag-Concert” show. The concert kicked off last March 25 in Kissimmee, Florida. On March 26, Vice entertained Pinoys in Houston, Texas. He’ll be in San Diego, California tomorrow, March 31. The concert tour ends April 1 in Los Angeles, California.
Vice is one of the top 10 highest earners in Philippine showbiz. He has starred in six of the highest-grossing films in Philippine cinema. He has also become one of the most popular hosts of “It’s Showtime!” and his own talk show, “Gandang Gabi Vice.” He has produced chart-topping singles like “Karakaraka,” “Whoops Kiri” and the anthemic “Boom Panes,” which turned into dance crazes; and became the first openly gay endorser for a major product in the Philippines.
Known for his off-color humor, Vice started out as a singer but developed his comedic talent in comedy clubs in the country alongside other famous stand-up comedians Chokoleit, Pooh, John Lapus, and Rey Kilay. His brand of comedy is sarcasm but instead of being insulted, those he singles out from the audience feels flattered.

Busy again
Thea Tolentino is known to often play antagonist on TV. From “Half Sisters” and “Once Again” to “Hahamakin Ang Lahat,” she has taken Kapuso viewers on a ride with her versatility playing villain roles. She is currently on “Destined To Be Yours” as Trish, Benjie’s (Alden Richards) ex-girlfriend.
She likened Trish to a lion that is meek yet deadly when angered.
“Actually kinabahan ako noong una kasi iniisip ko kung anong atake ang gagawin ko dito,” shared Thea. “First time kong makatrabaho sa soap opera si Alden. Mabait siya.”
She was surprised to have snagged the role.
“I was overwhelmed dahil, siyempre, AlDub ’yan,” she quipped. “I was nervous and excited at the same time kasi kailangan kong pantayan ’yung energy ni Alden and Maine. Kailangang makipag sabayan din ako sa kanila sa mga eksena namin.”
She finds Maine’s energy contagious.
“Kailangan ko ’yun kasi hindi ako ganu’n ka-hyper,” she said.
According to Thea, she’s been receiving positive feedbacks from the AlDub fans, for which she is grateful.
“Natutuwa ako na na-a-appreciate nila. Nagulat lang ako kasi grabe sila maghanap ng information. Nahalungkat nila ’yung event na pinuntahan namin ni Alden in 2013,” she said.
“Destined To Be Yours” airs week nights on GMA’s Telebabad block.
