Legendary English singer Engelbert Humperdinck will hold his one-night-only concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum tomorrow.
Well-loved worldwide, he has sold more than 140 million records, including 64 gold albums and 35 platinum albums. Engelbert has also earned four Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe, and stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Las Vegas Walk of Fame, and Leicester Walk of Fame.
The singer’s voice has been immortalized in timeless tunes loved by many Filipinos and fans worldwide. These include “Please Release Me,” “The Last Waltz,” “Am I That Easy To Forget,” “There Goes My Everything,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” the unforgettable “Quando, Quando, Quando,” and many more.
“My mother’s side of the family had the singing voice so I must have inherited that from her. My father was a man’s man – strong, athletic, charismatic. And I like to do all kinds of men things. I love sports, golf, tennis, martial arts, soccer, skiing, and, at the same time, yes, I do appreciate women.”
Engelbert has performed for the Queen of England four times. He has also sang for several presidents and many heads of state. He has recorded everything from the most romantic ballads to movie theme songs, disco, rock, and even gospel. He has endeared himself to fans with his sense of humor and self-deprecating jokes.

Generous Regine
Singer Regine Velasquez displayed her generosity once more at the recent cast party for her teleserye “Poor Señorita.” Because she has gotten to love her co-stars so much, it is said she gave them expensive gifts (e.g. Gucci shoes, iPad Minis).
“Poor Señorita” airs from Monday to Friday on GMA Primetime Telebabad.
