Television commercials

In this case some TV broadcasters have to remove TV logos (like ABS-CBN, TV5 & GMA) before staring a commercial break. Also, all commercial content and advertisements will be start (right after for most TV shows will break) before or after TV program announcements/etc.

Since television was introduced to the Philippines in 1953, they used imported TV advertisements until 1960, the same way in which they used in billboard advertisements during the American period. In the 1960,P&G paved their way to start the first local TV Ad.

In 1966, when the Philippine TV turned from black-and-white to color, Colgate-Palmolive was the first to advertise in color.

Television advertising's production cost has become more expensive in the Philippines. The requirements for the TV advertisement to be broadcast (just like in some countries) are: Film degradation, the styles of the music score (arrangement), film angles, B&W or colored, hair styles, the manner the advertisement was presented and the scriptwriting.

From 1983 onwards, cigarette advertisements on TV have had a warning at the end of the advertisement. It says:
  • From 1983 to 1984: "Government Warning: Cigarette smoking is hazardous to your health".
  • From 1984 to November 30, 1990: "Government Warning: Cigarette smoking is hazardous to health".
  • From July 1, 1993 to 1994: "Government Warning: Cigarette smoking is dangerous to health".
  • Since 1994 to present: "Government Warning: Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health".
On January 1, 2012, cigarette television advertisements, including radio advertisements and sponsorship, were banned.

Meanwhile, advertisements for alcoholic beverages contain the "DRINK RESPONSIBLY" (formerly "Uminom lang ng tama", then "DRINK MODERATELY") message at the end.

Other messages posted at the end of television advertisements using the last frame are:
  • "NO APPROVED THERAPEUTIC CLAIMS" or "MAHALAGANG PAALALA: ANG (insert name of product) AY HINDI GAMOT AT HINDI DAPAT GAMITING PANGGAMOT SA ANUMANG URI NG SAKIT." - for food/dietary supplements,
