Sa resolusyon nila Bokal Glenn Bercede ug Thadeo Jovito Ouano sa ika-unom nga distrito sa Probinsiya sa Sugbo, ilang gisaysay nga dugay ra nga gusto sa mga konstituwente sa Mandaue nga mahimo kining lone congressional district sukad pa nga na classify kini isip High Urbanized City sa tuig 1991.
“The creation of the Mandaue Congressional District shall ensure and guarantee further representation of at least one Congressman to carry their interests and verbalize the aspirations of Mandaue City being a highly industrialized manufacturing hub of the Province of Cebu” pagbasa sa resolusyon sa duha ka mga bokal.
Niadtong bulan sa Oktubre 2016, si Kongresista Jonas Cortes sa 6th district miduso og balaudnon o House Bill 4117 nga nagtinguha nga mahimong lone district ang Mandaue. Matud ni Bercede ug Ouano nga kun aduna nay kaugalingong representante ang Mandaue didto sa Kongreso, makahatag kini og dugang pagtagad sa mga Sugboanon. (BANAT NEWS)
