Glaiza’s loving it by Crispina Martinez - Belen August 19, 2016 (updated)

Glaiza de Castro, who plays the Sang’gre Pirena in GMA’s iconic  telefantasya “Encantadia,” is loving her role more and more as the show continues to unfold.
She explained, “Mas minamahal ko si Pirena everytime na may nangyayaring tagumpay sa story line niya. Pinupuri ko talaga si Pirena since matagal niyang pinagpa-planuhan lahat ng mga ’yun. So ako, nagugulat and at the same time, natutuwa dahil naging effective ’yung pagpapa-awa effect ko sa mga kapatid ko sa show. Ang challenge nu’n kay Pirena is kung hanggang saan ang kaya niyang gawin…”
Meanwhile, Kapuso star Ken Alfonso was pleasantly shocked at his and Glaiza’s recent scene together for the show that trended on social media.
“Masaya ako at na-shock actually kasi very short lang ’yung clip na ’yun and yet maganda ang naging feedback ng mga manunuod,” Ken said.

Grand debut
The 16-year-old budding singer-composer Hannah Nolasco, who launched her debut album “Peksman” two years ago, is now a lady! She celebrates her 18th birthday tonight via a grand debut-cum-masquerade dinner-dance ball at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Proudest of course, is her doting and loving father, Col. Ricardo L. Nolasco, chairman and president of the Air Materiel Wing Savings & Loan Association Inc.
As expected, Hannah will sing songs for guests and family, among them “As Long As I’m Around You” and “More Than A Thank You,” both composed by Garth Garcia, which she dedicates to her father. Other performers are Elmo Magalona, Miguel Aguila, Davey Langit, Garth Garcia, Keanne Ferrer, and Mark Mabasa.
For the occasion, Hannah will wear gowns designed by Renee Salud and Gideon Sy of Drezzee. The whole production, by EZ Events, will be directed by Rodgil Flores of Kagandahang Flores.
The traditional 18 Candles, 18 Treasures, 18 Roses, and 18 Gifts will be participated in by relatives and friends. She will be escorted by McCoy de Leon of “PBB.” Host is Alex Diaz of Star Magic Circle 2013.
It is interesting to note that last year, Hannah tied with Morissette Amon as Best New Female Recording Artist at the PMPC Star Awards for Music.

El Shaddai started as a Bible-quoting radio program of Prayer Partners Fellowship International on August 19, 1984, after Brother Mike’s recovery from a heart ailment inspired him to build a community of believers. A small group of 15 members held a monthly spiritual rally outside the radio station. As the size of the crowd grew (from 15 members in 1984 to millions today), Brother Mike founded the radio station DWXI, and eventually transferred rally venues from a football field, to the Quirino Grandstand, to the Philippine International Convention Center, to the Cultural Center of the Philippines to the SM Mall of Asia Arena, and finally to the House of Prayer, to have a bigger space for spiritual activities.
Prior to forming El Shaddai, Brother Mike was first involved in the Charismatic movement, which helped him to affiliate his group with the Catholic Church, where he remains a lay person. El Shaddai has a diocesan bishop and spiritual director from the Catholic Church. Brother Mike is married to Avelina “Sister Belen” del Monte Velarde, and they have four children.
