The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chair Liza Diño led a big delegation of filmmakers and artists to the Far East Film Festival last April 24 to 29 in Udine, Italy. Part of the delegation was renowned actresses Elizabeth Oropesa and Gloria Diaz of “Si Chedeng At Si Apple,” which was in competition along with “Smaller And Smaller Circles” and “Ang Larawan.”
Oropesa felt so honored to have been chosen as one of the speakers at the “Sandaan: Philippine Cinema Centennial Talks.” She has made no less than 150 films and TV shows, and won many best actress trophies for such movies as “Lumapit, Lumayo Ang Umaga” and “Nunal Sa Tubig.”
Nick Deocampo, film historian and documentarist, spoke on “Discovery Of The Past: Asian Film History.”
Other speakers at the Udine filmfest were Ed Lajano, festival director of QCinema, Bianca Balbuena, CEO of EpicMedia, and Diño.
