The TV remake of the 1987 Ishmael Bernal classic movie, “Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa,” premieres Jan. 30 on GMA Afternoon Prime.
It features some of the most talented Kapuso actors including Julie Anne San Jose, Benjamin Alves, Martin del Rosario, and LJ Reyes.
The show is about orphan Santina who was forced to work hard after her aunt’s death. She will work in one of the restaurants of Diony, who will send her to school and treat her as her own daughter. Diony will also adopt Angeli, a homeless girl longing for a mother’s love. The two will eventually vie for the love of Diony’s son, Ephraim.
“Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa” is directed by award-winning actress-director Gina Alajar.

GMA Network’s ratings success continues well into the New Year with recent data from service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement showing the Kapuso network at No. 1 all over the country.
From December 2016 to Jan. 15, (with Jan. 8 to 15 based on overnight data), GMA led competition in National Urban Philippines with an audience share of 41.7 percent. Based on National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) data, 7 out of the top 10 programs in the country belong to Kapuso.
The network’s opening salvo for 2017, the romantic-comedy “Meant To Be,” premiered to high ratings last Jan. 9, landing a spot in the top 10.
