Dennis Padilla is happy to play kontrabida on GMA Network’s primetime series “Alyas Robin Hood” topbilled by Dingdong Dantes, Andrea Torres and Megan Young.
“In past years, I’ve always been the sidekick but never the kontrabida kaya I’m really enjoying my character as a bad guy,” Dennis said. “After a two-week absence, my character Wilson Chan is back.”
Their work schedule for the series is so heavy that Dennis missed the chance to work with his daughter Julia Barretto in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Vince And Kath And James.”
“I should have played Julia’s character’s father in the movie. But when they first told me about it, we were already taping for ‘Alyas Robin Hood.’ The second time they called me to shoot, talagang in the midst of taping na talaga kami, three times a week. So how can I do it? Sayang talaga, but I’m happy for my daughter.”
“Vince And Kath And James” also stars Joshua Garcia and Ronnie Alonte. According to Krip Yuson, one of the members of the MMFF Selection Committee, the movie is a light comedy romance that “successfully reinvents the teen movie with its fresh approach and fluid narrative, bolstered by a directorial style that is fresh and clean.”
