‘Unmarried Wife:’ A high-calibre drama offering from Star Cinema 0 SHARES Share it! By: Crispina Martinez-Belen Published November 15, 2016, 12:05 AM

Star Cinema’s latest film, “The Unmarried Wife,” is, no doubt, something to watch out for, what with three of the country’s finest dramatic stars – Dingdong Dantes, Paulo Avelino and Angelica Panganiban – being among cast members.
Opening tomorrow in theaters nationwide, the movie is directed by the award-winning Maryo J. de los Reyes, from a script written by the equally acclaimed Vanessa Valdez.
If Direk Maryo is super proud of his latest work, it’s because “The Unmarried Wife” is a mature love story that offers a different insight on relationships.
The movie marks the reunion of Angelica, Direk Maryo and Vanessa who collaborated in the blockbuster romantic drama “A Love Story” in 2007.
Dingdong, meanwhile returns to Star Cinema for the fourth time. The first movie he did for Star Cinema was the 2011 horror flick “Segunda Mano,” which also starred Angelica.
“The Unmarried Wife” is Dingdong’s reunion movie with Angelica after “One More Try” in 2012.
The movie centers on Anne (Angelica) – a young woman who carries severe inhibition on love due to a traumatic childhood experience. Her reservations are wiped away after finding love in the person of Geoff (Dingdong). It will be short-lived, however, with Geoff succumbing to infidelity. As she struggles to fight for her family, her friend Bryan (Paulo) offers to heal her emotional wounds with the promise of being the lover that she truly deserves.
“The Unmarried Wife” also marks the debut film performance of Paulo for a drama under Star Cinema. He recently wowed Filipinos around the world with his impressive performance on Star Creatives’ Emmy nominated primetime series “Bridges Of Love.”
“The Unmarried Wife” also marks the return of Direk Maryo to Star Cinema since he directed the romantic-drama “I’ll Be There” in 2010.

KC, Hair Asia  cover girl again
Actress-singer KC Concepcion first appeared on the cover of Hair Asia for the magazine’s Holiday Issue in 2007. She again graces the cover of Hair Asia this November for “Hair Salon Spectacular.”
Evelyn Alvaran Cruz, president and CEO of Hair Asia, and also editor of the magazine, is proud and happy that KC is appearing on the cover of Hair Asia once more.
She said, “I have known KC since she was a child, being friends with her mom Sharon Cuneta. I remember fondly bringing her food during her mom’s taping. Even then, I knew KC would grow up to be an independent and successful young woman. I can’t believe it’s just a year short of a decade since she fronted our Narnia-themed Holiday 2007 cover.”
KC, by the way, is the National Ambassador Against Hunger of the United Nation’s Food Program.
