ABS-CBN said Tuesday it widened its lead over GMA Network in Mega Manila in November as it maintained the top position nationwide, based on data from Kantar Media.
The country's largest media and entertainment network scored 37 percent audience share in Mega Manila, compared to GMA's 29 percent, which slid 4 points, ABS-CBN said in a statement.
Nationwide, ABS-CBN had an audience share of 45 percent, leading GMA by 15 points, according to a Kantar Media survey of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent 100 percent of the total Philippine TV viewing population.
ABS-CBN also led in Total Luzon, where it tallied an average audience share of 40 percent against GMA’s 32 percent, in Total Visayas where it garnered 53 percent against GMA’s 24 percent, and in Total Mindanao where it hit 53 percent against GMA’s 26 percent.
ABS-CBN also dominated the list of the 10 highest-rating programs in November. “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” drew the highest viewership among all shows, hitting an average national TV rating of 40.3 percent.
Other ABS-CBN programs on the top 10 are "TV Patrol” (30.6 percent), “Ngayon at Kailanman” (29.1 percent), “Halik” (26.2 percent), “Tonight with Boy Abunda” (24.3 percent), “Bandila” (22.1 percent), “The Kids’ Choice” (25.9 percent), “ASAP Natin 'To” (23.2 percent), “Goin’ Bulilit” (21.6 percent), “Wansapanataym” (18.5 percent), “Home Sweetie Home” (22.2 percent). “Pinoy Big Brother: Otso” and “MMK” (20.5 percent), “Rated K” (18.6 percent), “I Can See Your Voice” (17.5 percent), “Gandang Gabi Vice” (16.9 percent), “Playhouse” (15.4 percent), “It’s Showtime” (13.2 percent), “Kadenang Ginto and” “Los Bastardos” (12.7 percent) and “Meteor Garden” (21.9 percent).
ABS-CBN led the primetime block (6 p.m. to 12 a.m.) with an average audience share of 49 percent, 19 points higher than GMA.
ABS-CBN also won the morning block (6 a.m. to 12 p.m.) with 37 percent versus GMA’s 26 percent, in the noontime block (12 p.m. to 3 p.m.), where it scored 43 percent versus GMA’s 31 percent, and in the afternoon block (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.), where it got 45 percent versus GMA’s 32 percent.
As of October, ABS-CBN TVplus sold 6.1 million boxes since its launch in 2015. It recently added 5 new channels including the Asianovela Channel, Movie Central, MYX, Jeepney TV, and O Shopping in Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, and Metro Cebu.
ABS-CBN also recently launched its new streaming service, iWant, which was downloaded 1 million times since Nov. 17.
