Leave it to Viva Films’ top honcho Boss Vic del Rosario to put together a new love team and catapult it to stardom. Take for example JaDine, the James Reid and Nadine Lustre loveteam that has become a household name.
Now, his latest and Viva Film’s risingtandem is JuliaNella. Touted as a dance tandem, it’s composed of online sensations Ella Cruz and Julian Trono. They are also dubbed the Teen Dance Princess and Teen Dance Prince, respectively. They rose to fame on strength of their dance video hits that went viral on YouTube.
Their surging popularity also prompted Viva Films to prepare a series on TV5’s “Wattpad Presents.” Under Viva Artists Agency (VAA), they’ve also already started pre-production work on their launching movie tentatively titled “Fanboy/Fangirl.”
Both Ella and Julian said they feel honored that VAA and Viva Films have entrusted them with a TV show and a movie project. They see these as good opportunities not only to make their fans happy, but to showcase what other talents they have. Both admitted such projects make them nervous and pressured.
In an interview, Ella expressed, “Sunod-sunod ang mga projects namin. We’re super thankful to Viva. Pero nakaka-tense din. Big challenge for me and Julian to prove ourselves. For sure we’ll give our all para hindi kami mapahiya sa mga fans and supporters namin.”
JuliaNella released their respective solo singles under Viva Records late last year, the chart-topping “Balang Araw” and “Tamis.” They have also recently released their first duet “Tumalon.”
JuliaNella is also the main featured artists fronting the PPop Generation of new OPM artists that have been drawing huge crowds of shrieking young fans in shopping malls in Metro Manila and nearby vicinities since January.
