Resorts World Manila (RWM) is bringing together the country’s music icons for the ultimate retro dancefest dubbed “Yugyugan Nation.”

Happening on Nov. 23 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT) of RWM, it features the 70s Superband which recently embarked on the Ultimate OPM Experience tour in the UK, performing at the Dome Theater in London, the Epic Studios in Norwich and the Britannia Theater in Kent. In “Yugyugan Nation,” they will be joined by Gary Arriola and Bob Guzman of Boyfriends and Donny Parsons of Hagibis, and rock legend Sampaguita as special guest performers.

Directed by Freddie Santos with Butch Miraflor as musical director, “Yugyugan Nation” is a tribute to 70s Superband member Snaffu Rigor who recently passed away.

First anniversary

Friday night party Kaleidoscope at the Greenfield District in Mandaluyong marked its first anniversary recently with special activities that had good food and a grand display of dancing lights and fireworks.

Executive Vice President and General Manager Duane A.X. Santos, who cut the ceremonial ribbon to celebrate Kaleidoscope’s birthday, explained to guests their aim is to emphasize a commitment to providing “work-life balance.”

“We put importance to art, healthy food, and music – to remind everyone of the beauty of colors and the magic of lights and that a Friday night out, in a perfect place, can bring inspiration to the challenges of every day.”

Greenfield District is said to be visited by some 6,000 people on a given Friday night. The party continues this November.
