Actress-author Rita Avila will have two book-signing events on Sept. 18 at the 2016 Book Fair at the SMX Convention Center.
The first will be at the St. Paul’s Publishing booth from 2 to 3 p.m., where she’ll autograph Part 2 of her children’s book “Ang Hindi Nakikitang Pakpak.”
Then at the National Book Store booth from 6 to 8 p.m., Rita will launch her first novel, “Wanna Bet On Love,” where she shared her light and comic side in telling a story about love, gambling and friendship.
Rita got into writing out of grief over the death of her three-week old son who succumbed to congenital heart ailment a few years ago. The first outcome of her literary endeavor was the inspirational book “8 Ways To Comfort With Grace.”
This was followed by a book based on her and husband’s experience of being bullied in school, titled “Si Erik Tutpik At Si Ana Taba.” Her next book, dedicated to the memory of her son, was the series “The Invisible Wings (Ang Hindi Nakikitang Pakpak).”
Rita started her showbiz career with the late German Moreno’s “That’s Entertainment.” Some of her movies were “The Flor Contemplacion Story,” “Sabel,” “Soltera” and “Shake, Rattle & Roll.” Her last teleserye was “Hanggang Makita Kang Muli” on GMA Network.
