Comedy drama “Camp Sawi” is about five young women struggling to mend their broken hearts inside a fictional camp. It is set to open tomorrow in theaters nationwide.
“Camp Sawi” is a Joyce Bernal production for VIVA Films and N2, written and directed by Irene Villamor, who shot a big part of the film on Bantayan Island.
The movie stars five of today’s hottest and sexiest young actresses: Andi Eigenmann, Bela Padilla, Yassi Pressman, Kim Molina, and Arci Muñoz. Also in the cast is Kapamilya hunk Sam Milby with the special participation of Kapuso actor, Dennis Trillo.
As Bridgette, Bela is a bank teller dumped by her long-time Chinese boyfriend for another girl.
Jessica (Yassi), meanwhile, is a young perky cheerleader, who finds out that her boyfriend is in love with someone else.
Gwen (Arci) works for a band with her boyfriend, who eventually breaks up with her.
Joan (Kim), on the other hand, is left by her lonesome when her fiancé dies after proposing to her.
Lastly, Clarisse (Andi) is a former actress who suffers the consequences of being the other girl. She finds relief from young and good-looking Camp Sawi head coach cum resident chef, Louie (Sam).
“Super fun movie” is how Bela describes “Camp Sawi.”
And the fun the girls had while shooting the film is evident in the trending “Limang Bobo” spoof video now circulating on the Internet.
Arci, on the other hand, believes moviegoers will surely be able to identify with their characters.
As for Bela, what sets Camp Sawi apart from other “hugot” movies is its focus on the female characters and how they deal with heartbreak and the idea of moving on. “Mas makikita rito ’yung pananaw naman ng mga babae about relationships, kung paano sila magtutulungan mag-move on,” she relates.

Alden, Miguel join ‘Encantadia’
Last Wednesday, Miguel Tanfelix joined the cast of “Encantadia,” reprising the role of Pagaspas, which he played in the fantasy series “Mulawin” when he was only five years old.  Now, “Pambansang Bae” Alden Richards is also set to make a guest appearance in GMA’s trending telefantasya.
On the show, Alden will play Lakan, a Mulawin who vowed to protect the “diwatas” of Encantadia.
According to the actor, he is excited about his guest appearance in the series revealing he was a big fan of the original show.
“Lumaki ako ng may ‘Encantadia’ eh, kaya excited ako dito. Dapat pong abangan ng mga viewers kung ano nga ba ang magiging role ko sa pinakamalaking series sa telebisyon,” he said.
On his part, Miguel said, “Nang malaman ko that I was going to play Pagaspas again, nag-flashback sa akin lahat ng memories ko before. Ang saya ng feeling na I’m playing the role I played when I was only five years old.”
