GMA Network airs hit Asianovelas

GMA Network will be airing phenomenal hit Asianovelas “My Love from the Star” and “Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo” for the first time on Philippine television starting today.

True to its promise of providing superior entertainment for its viewers, the Kapuso Network brings two well-loved Asianovela series in Korea and Japan to Filipino homes, which will surely capture the hearts and touch the lives of the Filipino viewers.

Following the success of the popular Koreanovela series “Endless Love” and “Full House,” GMA Network airs South Korea’s No. 1 romantic comedy sci-fi series in the first quarter of this year, “My Love from the Star.” It showcases an extraordinary love story about two people coming from different worlds, and how love literally and figuratively defies time and space.

Matteo (Kim Soo Hyun) is a cold-hearted alien accidentally left behind by his companions on earth some 400 years ago. Three months before he gets back to the star where he lives, he will meet Steffi (Jeon Ji Hyun), a self-centered but loveable actress who makes him wish he is an ordinary man.

Meanwhile, “Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo” is a Japanese adaptation of the popular love story based on a manga that even has live-action versions in Taiwan and Korea and was also produced as an anime.

Its story revolves around the lives of Kasey (Miki Honoka), a not-so-smart girl who secretly likes campus heartthrob Niccolo (Yuki Furukawa). When she finally finds the courage to confess her feelings for him, she will be rejected. Caloy (Yuki Yamada), Kasey’s good friend, protects her from Niccolo because he is in love with her.

The lives of Kasey and Niccolo will start to change when they find out that their fathers are best friends. Fate will bring them together when Kasey’s family moves in to Niccolo’s house after a meteorite destroyed their home. When Kasey decides to finally forget her one-sided love for him and just move on, Niccolo will kiss her and dare her if she can still forget him after that.

Catch the back-to-back pilot episodes of “Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo” and “My Love from the Star” this Monday after GMA-7’s “The Borrowed Wife.”

Religious Groups Sing For A Cause

Religious groups from different denominations sang together for the benefit of typhoon “Yolanda” victims during the “Aawitang Handog Concert” held recently at the Skydome in SM City North EDSA.

Spearheaded by UN Goodwill Office Ambassador Gion V. Gounet, this event brought together people from all faiths and cultures from across the globe for a common goal: to help our brothers and sisters devastated by the typhoon.

“This event invokes all the voices through arts and music to bring sympathy and help for the sustainable education of the children victims from the recent devastation brought upon by typhoon ‘Yolanda,’” said Gounet in a statement. “The challenge now is that the voices heard will have working hands joined and held together for the betterment of mankind.”

The event marked the first time seven different religious chorale groups performing in one venue, including The Adventist Blue Ambassadors Choral of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, the Iglesia ni Cristo Tabernacle Choir, the Kammerchor Manila of Heart of Jesus and Mary Parish, the Manila Stake Choir of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, the Manila Concert Choir, Polyphonics, and Ang Dating Daan Chorale of the Members of Church of God International.

Prince Ikram Ashad of Malaysia graced the event along with the Malaysian Embassy’s First Secretary Raveendran Nair and former movie actress-turned-businesswoman and media personality Marissa del Mar.
