Taylor Swift’s ‘Red Tour’ comes to Manila in June

Seven-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift is heading to Southeast Asia in June as part of “The Red Tour.” Presented by Cornetto with AirAsia as the official airline, it brings Swift to Tokyo, Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

Swift will be singing several songs from her record-breaking “Red” album as well as other fan favorites in the concert, which will also feature elaborate costume changes, numerous dancers and fabulous sets.

Swift writes all her songs and is the youngest winner in the history of the Grammys. She is the No. 1 digital music artist of all time, and the only female artist in music history (and just the fourth artist ever) to have an album earn a million on its first week twice. She is also the first artist since The Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at No.1 with three consecutive studio albums.

Time magazine has named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World and she is Billboard’s youngest-ever “Woman of the Year.”

Taylor, who is signed to Big Machine Records, has career record sales in excess of 26 million albums and 75 million song downloads worldwide.

Atlantis Presents ‘Ghost’ As 15th Anniversary Offering

Atlantis Productions celebrates its 15th anniversary with the first professionally licensed production of “Ghost The Musical” in the Asia Pacific region. The musical will run from April 25 to May 11 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati.

Adapted from the hit film, “Ghost The Musical” follows the story of young couple Sam and Molly. His untimely death will lead to a new understanding of love’s inherent power. Trapped between two worlds, Sam refuses to leave Molly when he learns she is in danger. Desperate to communicate with her, he turns to a storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown.

Headlining the cast are Asian pop superstar Christian Bautista as Sam, musical theatre actress Cris Villonco as Molly, respected singer-actress Ima Castro as Oda Mae and theatre actor Hans Eckstein as Carl.

Directed by Bobby Garcia, “Ghost The Musical” is presented through a special licensing agreement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide.

Garcia said, “I am thrilled to bring this timeless love story to the stage with an exciting cast. ‘Ghost’ is an extremely romantic musical about love, loss and what may lay in store for us in the afterlife and I look forward to creating the show with this phenomenal cast and creative team.”

“Ghost” is also Atlantis’ first production in partnership with Ten Bridges Media Corp. of Bobby Barreiro and Tony Tuviera.

Also in the cast are Altair Alonso, Mikkie Bradshaw, Bym Buhain, Arron Cadawas, Steven Conde, Milai Imperial, Kim Molina, Raul Montesa, Yael Pineda-Hall, Marisa Saroca and Jamie Wilson.

JAG Joins Bb. Pilipinas 2014 In Grand Fashion Show

Denim brand JAG is the gold sponsor of this year’s Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant.

It launched its Spring/Summer 2014 collection with the help of this year’s candidates walking down the runway wearing acid-washed shorts, bleached denim vests and ankle cut jeans in different styles.

The fashion show, which was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, also featured Miss Universe 2010 fourth runner-up Venus Raj, Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up Ariella Arida, Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Johanna Datul and Miss Tourism Queen International 2013 finalist Cindy Miranda.

The event was just one in the lineup of activities leading to the Binibining Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night on March 30.
