Speaking from experience, 21-year-old Gil Cuerva admits acting is no walk in the park. Compared to modeling, GMA Network’s latest matinee idol said being an actor is hard work that includes going home in the wee hours from taping. Still, he prefers that than staying at home doing nothing.
In an interview, the budding actor said he is contented about how his career has been unfolding. As a newbie, he has received compliments about his acting. The number of fans he has, Gil said, has increased.
“It’s an exciting time for me right now,” he related. “I’m thankful for everybody on the set; from the utility to the producers – to the stylists to the makeup artists. And especially to (my leading lady) Jennylyn Mercado and our director, Joyce Bernal.”
He said Jennylyn helps a lot in his growth as actor.
“She allows me to be myself which is all I can ask for. It’s a testament to who she is as a person, very understanding, very patient.”
