‘Siphayo’ is Lamangan’s most amoral film By: Crispina Martinez-Belen Published November 1, 2016, 12:05 AMlm By: Crispina Martinez-Belen Published November 1, 2016, 12:05 AM

Multi-awarded director Joel Lamangan considers “Siphayo,” slated to be shown in selected cinemas tomorrow, Nov. 2, his most amoral film.
“Amoral but beautiful,” he cleared. “In terms of content and form, pwede siya ihanay sa mga sexy films na nagawa ko.”
“More, every ingredient needed of a good movie nandito including good acting from good actors. Isa ito sa mga dahilan kaya nabigyan siya ng R-16 rating. Ayon sa mga reviewers mahusay ang mga artista, mahusay ang performance nila.”
Note film star Nathalie Hart won Best Actress at the recently concluded International Film Festival Manhattan 2016 for her performance in the film.
Nakitaan ko si Nathalie ng potential while we were shooting the film,” Joel said.
It’s still being talked about how he was able to convince Nathalie to do full frontal nudity for “Siphayo.”
“You have to have the right reason or reasons to convince an actress to pose naked in front of the camera,” said Joel. “She has to understand its need, its importance to the story. As director, it’s my duty na maipaliwang ko itong mabuti and make her feel secure.”
Joel maintained, “Lahat naman ng pinaghubad ko, may narating. Ang iba naging best actress pa nga, may grand slam winner pa.”
“Siphayo,” written by Eric Ramos, is produced by Baby Go of BG International Productions. It tells the story of a father and his two sons falling for the same woman. The movie also stars Maribel Lopez, Allan Paule, Joem Bascon, Luis Alandy and Elora Españo.

So hot, it sizzles
Lovi Poe attested to “The Escort” being the hottest film of her career so far.
An erotic offering from Regal Entertainment, “The Escort,” which also stars Derek Ramsay and Christopher de Leon, is directed by US-trained Enzo Williams, who won Best Director at the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival for his work in “Bonifacio Ang Unang Pangulo.”
It’s the first time that Derek and Lovi are paired in a film and according to sources, both threw caution to the wind doing their sizzling love scenes.
“It’s only because Derek was so protective and supportive of me,” explained Lovi.
The actress also commended Christopher. “He and Derek were such gentlemen. I’m so happy to work with both of them sa pelikulang ito,” Lovi expressed.
In the film, Derek plays an ex-escort named Xyruz who was abandoned by his mom at an early age. Later on, he will be dumped by his fiancée. Both incidents will convince Xyruz that women are hateful creatures.
This would change when he meets the beautiful Yassi (Lovi), a hardworking woman raising her siblings by her lonesome following the death of her parents.
But their love would be challenged when Yassi meets a rich, older guy played by Christopher.
“The Escort” also stars Rommel Padilla, Dimples Romana, Jackielou Blanco and Albie Casino. It opens tomorrow in theaters nationwide.
