“Bakit Lahat Ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?” is directed by multi-awarded Jun Lana, and it stars three of the country’s hottest stars namely Anne Curtis, Dennis Trillo and Paolo Ballesteros.

In the funny tale of love and romance, Anne plays Kylie, a girl seemingly cursed for having failed romances with her gay boyfriends. Friends aptly refer to her as the “Cover Girl” of closeted gays.
Paolo is Benj, who is Kylie’s “paminta” best friend. He spends hours and hours at the gym training his sights on buff bodies. One day they meet Diego, played by Dennis, who becomes one of Kylie’s “missions.” Is Diego straight or gay? They have to find out.

As of this writing, the official teaser of “Bakit Lahat Ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?” has over five million hits and counting.

‘Someone To Watch Over Me’ leaves viewers teary-eyed

GMA Network’s intense and compelling “Someone To Watch Over Me” continues to tug at the heartstrings.

The timely drama takes everyone on an emotional and moving ride as TJ’s (portrayed by Tom Rodriguez) early-onset Alzheimer’s disease worsens, which affects not only his memory but work and family too.

Viewers sympathize with Lovi Poe’s character Joanna. She is TJ’s compassionate wife who’ll do everything for her sick husband who now remembers his ex-girlfriend Irene (Max Collins) more than her.

The series airs weeknights after “Alyas Robin Hood” on GMA Telebabad.

ABS-CBN, GMA slug it out anew in ratings battle to win lucrative ads

The country’s two largest television broadcast companies sparred over who claimed the No. 1 spot in terms of television ratings just halfway through October.

GMA Network Inc. and ABS-CBN Corp. released separate statements over the weekend, saying they each lured the most viewers from Sept. 1 through Oct. 13 this year.

This was a departure from the usual ratings announcements at the start of each month, and signaled the intensifying battle for viewership as well as the advertising money the market leader attracts.

In its statement, GMA said it has “retaken” the lead in nation-wide television ratings. Citing data provided by Nielsen TV Audience Measurement, GMA said it overtook its closest competitor, ABS-CBN Corp., in National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) with an average people audience share of 38.3 percent. It said ABS-CBN got 37.6 percent.

GMA likewise remained the undisputed ratings leader in viewer-rich Urban Luzon, which accounts for 77 percent of all viewers in urban TV homes in the entire country, with 43.4 percent, ahead of ABS-CBN’s 32.3 percent.

In Mega Manila, another traditionally strong area for GMA representing 59 percent of urban viewers nationwide, the Network kept its total day ratings advantage with 46.1 percent versus ABS-CBN’s 28.2 percent.

During partial October (October 1 to 13), GMA particularly showed a stronger following on weekday evening primetime in NUTAM, where its people audience share reached 40 percent against ABS-CBN’s 37.3 percent.

Moreover, in comparison with ABS-CBN, more programs from GMA landed in the partial October list of 30 top-rating shows in Urban Luzon with a total of 18.

The well-loved Kapuso telefantasya Encantadia grabbed the number one spot in the Urban Luzon chart, while emerging as the highest-rating Kapuso program in National Urban Philippines.

The recently launched Kapuso primetime show Alyas Robin Hood, primetime newscast 24 Oras, award-winning comedy program Pepito Manaloto, multi-awarded news magazine show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, weekly drama anthology Magpakailanman, and weekend primetime offering Hay, Bahay! were also among the top 10 programs in Urban Luzon during the covered period.

Other top-rating Kapuso programs during the period include 24 Oras Weekend, Ismol Family, Sunday PinaSaya, Wowowin, Someone to Watch Over Me, Bubble Gang, Saksi, Eat Bulaga, Imbestigador, Superstar Duets, #Like, Dear Uge, Magkaibang Mundo, Oh My Mama, Sinungaling Mong Puso and Sa Piling ni Nanay per Nielsen data.

ABS-CBN broadly contested the results, citing data from Kantar Media. ABS-CBN said it got a national average audience share of 45.7 percent, or a 12 point lead over GMA’s 33.6 percent.
